Vancouver Zoo

We made our way up to the Vancouver Zoo today. It's fairly close to where we live, only about 20 miles North. It's a rather small zoo and not that nice, but the girls liked seeing the animals.

I think their favorite was the Wallaby (think small kangaroo). The first time we passed it, we saw a mama with her joey in her pouch. They thought this was the coolest, I thought he looked rather big to still be napping in there! The second time we passed them, the baby was out running around, but went back to his mother often and stuck his head in the pouch. We assumed he was going back in for a small nip from his mama each time. They were quite cute to watch.

Kristin liked the PINK flamingos and Hannah was most interested in the lion, as she's into The Chronicles of Narnia these days and Aslan, one of the main characters, is a lion.

It was an enjoyable afternoon.
